Investors around the globe are trying to decide if the selloff in China’s stock market reflects a severe downturn in the Chinese economy, the world’s second largest, with possibly dire consequences for the U.S. stock market and the U.S. economy.
The week began Monday with a 1,000 point drop in the Dow followed by a recovery Wednesday and Thursday, when the index registered the largest two-day point gain ever.
