Cyclone Idai makes landfall
On March 14th, 2019 cyclone Idai made landfall on the African continent at the port city of Beira. The gigantic storm was packing winds of 106 mphThe official death toll stands at 180 following flooding and high winds, which have destroyed homes and ripped roofs from concrete buildings.
Mozambique president said 1,000 people may have died. The official death toll has reached 180 people across southern Africa. Search teams just arrived in hard hit towns Sunday.
The area Malawi has also been badly hit. The flooding there has caused at least 122 deaths,
